home sweet home.
After talking about tiny homes and RVs for a few years, we finally purchased our first home. In January of 2014, we became the proud owners of a 1999 Dutchmen Classic fifth-wheel trailer. It was not the newest or most beautiful trailer out there, but it was ours, and was home.
We moved in full-time on June 1, 2014.
We moved out unexpectedly in February of 2015.
And yes, we were living in it year-round in a four-season state.
Below are some “after” photos. It’s not a huge transformation, but we wanted to make it feel like home.
Hey Laura!
I just discovered your lovely blog and wonderful story through a link on Tammy Strobel’s blog, Rowdy Kittens. So happy to find your online space. My boyfriend and I live in a Ford Transit van that we converted ourselves, and I write about it (as well as simplicity, creativity and wanderlust) over on my blog, Je Suis Une Monstre.
I can’t wait to read more of your tales! Nice to meet you! Katie. 🙂
Hi, Katie!!! Thank you for your kind words. So thrilled that you’re tackling a similar journey! Nothing stretches and forces you to grow as much as stepping out of your comfort zone into a new adventure. Nice to meet you too! 🙂
